Hello All,

We are proud to announce Philadelphia's Represented Theatre Company has become "REPRESENTED". The new structure was essential as our organization now spans off the traditional stage with our innovative marketing and outreach initiatives and the success of REP RADIO, the podcast that breaks the fourth wall to give you an inside look at the plays and the players. Our staged endeavors fit neatly under the new name REP THEATRE!

Our Fall 2011 production,"Girl on Gurl!", a series of 10-minute plays written by local female playwrights and directed by local female directors, will be featured in the Philadelphia Fringe Festival in September. The production adheres to our mission to promote creativity through the creation and exposure of new vessels of artistic expression.

With an excellent line-up of great Philly directors such as, Michelle Pauls, Cyndi Janzen, and Hannah Tsapatoris MacLeod and rising stars Ilana Vine, and Crystal Davis. We are working on our 6th, and final director and hope to have her announced soon.

The plays have been pouring in, the venue has been secured (Plays and Players Theatre's 3rd floor), and directors are almost all set…now the Producers need to produce the funds needed to make this show a reality.

Funds...Now, that's where you come in!

Producing great theater requires support both, financially and in-kind but, not as much as you may think. We have estimated the cost to be $2,500.00 for this production along with in-kind support for miscellaneous materials. We need to pay rent, Fringe Fest fees, post cards and other marketing, insurance, and stipends for the actors, directors, and writers. Many of our expenses are due months prior to our show, that's why we are reaching out to you TODAY.

Ticket sales can tie up loose ends by the close of production but, we need your help in advance. Please consider supporting us with a generous contribution today.

For every $25.00 that you donate, you will receive a ticket to the show and a mention in our program. In a sense we are pre-selling our show and truth be told, you could save $10 by just buying a ticket at the show…but that wouldn't be in the full spirit of supporting people that you believe in who are bringing great theatrical experiences to Philadelphia.

REP THEATRE l and REP RADIO adds four new podcasts to round out theater coverage focusing on actors, directors, writers and production teams.

Philadelphia, PA - Represented Theatre Company becomes REP THEATRE and re-invents the brands! REP RADIO to include a variety of new and exciting podcasts in the new REPRESENTED PODCAST NETWORK. The podcast network will feature our regular hosts in their very own shows! Chris Morse will host ACTING OUT, Todd Holtsberry will host DIRECT ME IF I'M WRONG, Kristen Scatton will host INSIDE THE WRITER'S MIND and OUT OF SIGHT is honored to welcome Christopher Haig as our new host. The official launch date: April 21, 2011.

REP THEATRE - Since 2005, Represented Theatre Company has quietly produced two original works (Sidewalk Cafe and Conversations From The Cafe), several Philadelphia Premieres (Dating Games, Hugging The Shoulder), in Philadelphia until the creation of REP RADIO, an idea that was born in the early stages of the company, changed the idea of our mission "to promote creativity through the creation and exposure of new vessels of artistic expression" to include "collaboration".

REP RADIO - the podcast that features performing artists in the Greater Philadelphia area, breaking the fourth wall to give you an inside look at the plays and the players. Since 2009, Rep Radio has produced over 150 episodes featuring up and coming as well as Barrymore winning and nominated productions including Wilma Theater's "Becky Shaw", Brat Productions' "A 24-Hour The Bald Soprano," Arden Theatre's "Peter Pan" and many many more companies. Rep Radio has covered the SPARK Showcase, Philly Fringe, PlayPenn and the red carpet at the 2009 and 2010 Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Philadelphia Theatre. THE REPRESENTED PODCAST HOSTS

Michael Brinckman is a 2008 graduate of Temple University's theater program and has worked at the Walnut Street Theatre, Bristol Riverside, InterAct, the Hedgerow, New City Stage, Act 2, and others in multiple capacities including acting, stage management, and sound mixing. His favorite podcasts to listen to are Preston and Steve, the Adam Carolla Show, the Nerdist Podcast, and the BS Report.

Clara Elser has worked for several local theaters including Theatre Exile, Lantern, and People's Light in various administrative and artistic capacities. She graduated from Kenyon College with BA in theater.

Christopher Haig A confessed multi-tasker, Chris is usually working on several projects at once. His current set and prop design work includes The Credeaux Canvas for Theatre Horizon, Lost in Yonkers for Plays & Players, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat for the Dramateurs at the Barn, and Heavy Metal Dance Fag for Tribe of Fools at the 2011 Fringe Festival. As Artistic Producing Director of HaHa Productions, Chris co-produced and designed the Philadelphia premier of Love-Nothing by Andrea Daniels at the 2010 Fringe Festival and anticipates their next production, The Fastest Clock in the Universe by Philip Ridley at the 2011 Fringe Festival. Currently, he also serves as Company Production Manager for Simpatico Theatre Project and prop designed their last three productions. As a stage carpenter and scenic artist, Chris worked with the Delaware Theatre Company and the Contemporary Stage Company. A Candidate for a Master of Science in Arts Administration from Drexel University, Chris is also planning to add a Masters in Scenic Design...just for fun.

Todd Holtsberry has been a member of the Rep Radio team for over a year, starting by guest hosting the 50th podcast of Rep Radio. When not interviewing theater folk, Todd is an actor, director and producer, working at several regional theaters as well as his own, Secret Room Theatre. Todd serves on the boards of the PDC and Rep Theatre and produces several on-going stage productions, like Philly's Primary Stages and The 24 Hour Cram, as well as different internet food series in Philadelphia

Christopher Morse is thrilled to have the opportunity to host this new podcast. Chris is trained actor, a novice director and playwright, as well as having been one of the hosts of Rep Radio since its inception in 2009. You may have seen him performing Shakespeare on stage recently as Malvolio in Magic Circle's Twelfth Night or as Chiron in Plays & Players' Titus Andronicus. You can see him next in May 2011 as part of PTW's 4th Annual PlayShop Festival.

Darnelle Radford is the Founder and Producing Artistic Director of Represented. He serves on the board of the Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia and the Safeguards Project. As a Stage Manager, Darnelle has worked for Flashpoint, Plays and Players, Curtain Call Creations, PGLTF and is the resident Stage Manager for Quince Productions.

Kristen M. Scatton is a secretary extraordinaire by day and aspiring playwright by night. Readings and productions of her work have been staged as part of the Painted Bride Art Center's Bridal Salon, Philly's Primary Stages, the Hybridge Arts Collective's "Last Monday" series, the Art/Life Company's "Art, Life, ACTION!" Festival, the Mercer County (NJ) One-Act PlayFest, and Stone Soup Theatre's Double (XX) Festival in Seattle, WA. In her spare time, she serves as Board Secretary for the Philadelphia Dramatists Center, and is a host for REP RADIO.

Winners/Afterplay Double

at University of the Arts: Gershman Y Blackbox Theater, Philadelphia, PA

Winners by Brian Friel Directed by Amy Dugas Brown Featuring Clare O'Malley, Sean Bradley, Danielle Adams & Ryan Walter Winners tells the story of a pair of teenage lovers, Joe and Mag, who are expecting a baby out of wedlock.

The play finds the two students in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland in 1966, on a hillside studying for their end of school exams. Afterplay by Brian Friel Directed by Daniel O'Neil Featuring D'Arcy Webb & Steve Gleich In Afterplay, Friel uses two of Anton Chekhov's characters, Sonya Serebriakova from Uncle Vanya and Andrey Prozorov from The Three Sisters.

The two meet in a cafe in Moscow, twenty-or-so years after Chekhov has left them.

EPISODE 153 - PDC AND P&P BAKE OFF

Calling All Philadelphia-Area Playwrights!

The 3rd Annual Philadelphia Bake-Off, co-sponsored by Plays & Players and PDC, starts up once again this Wednesday, February 16th.

Inspired by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Paula Vogel's "Bake-Off" writing exercise, participating playwrights will be given three "ingredients" or prompts and must "bake" a play with them. The first ingredient will be related to the upcoming Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts (PIFA) and their theme of Paris in 1911; the second ingredient will be provided by Isaiah Zagar, the award-winning mosaic mural artist whose work can be found on over 120 walls throughout Philadelphia and the United States; and the third ingredient will be given by Sheila Callaghan, who has seen three of her plays, Soak (FridgeFest, 2005), Crumble (Lay Me Down, Justin Timberlake) (Flashpoint Theatre Company, 2010), and That Pretty Pretty; Or, The Rape Play (Theatre Exile, 2010), produced on Philadelphia stages.

All three ingredients will be announced online this Wednesday, February 16th, at noon. Go to pdc1.org or to PDC's facebook group at that time to gather up your ingredients and start baking your play!

All participating writers are then invited to come to Plays & Players Theater, 1714 Delancey Street, on Sunday, February 20th, from Noon to 5pm, to share their work. Professional actors will be on hand to perform staged readings of the scripts. (These readings will not be open to the public or press.)

The 3rd Annual Philadelphia Bake-Off is open to ALL playwrights in the Philadelphia area, regardless of your level of experience, and there is no submission fee. We hope you can join us!

Carlos Fitzgerald is shot dead a book signing. Malcolm, the youngest son, must make a trip to New York to pick up his brother Adam, who has just heard the news of Carlos' death. Malcolm stays with his mother, Jessie, but neither he nor Adam has seen Carlos in close to 14 years. Malcolm makes the trip home with his brother, where Adam sees his mother Jessica/Jessie for the first time in all these years where he left home due to his mothers drinking and her almost fanatic dedication to Carlos. Their relationship continues to be strained, and trust between the two is a major factor.

Jessie uses her faith in god as a crutch; a band-aid of sorts, to cover all she is not able to deal with regarding not only the loss of Carlos, but the truth behind his death, which is also linked to the 'ailment' Malcolm suffers from.

ABOUT PHILLY FRINGE PREVIEW

On Stage Philadelphia's Performing Arts Preview Series features ten minute sneak-peak performances of upcoming productions in the Greater Philadelphia area representing a wide range of artistic disciplines. Following the performances, audiences will have an opportunity to meet and mingle with artists, and enjoy special offers to the upcoming productions at the post-show marketplace. Audiences are provided with an opportunity to ...see which are compatible to their interests, and frequently go on to attend the full versions of what they see at preview night.

On Stage Philadelphia's Philly Fringe Preview consists of ten minute previews of work from 8-10 artists performing in the upcoming Philly Fringe.

The performance runs for 90 minutes with a 10 minute intermission.

Fringe Performers for each Preview Night are TBA.

- Aug. 16 at 8:00pm
- Aug. 23 at 8:00pm
- Aug. 30 at 8:00pm

Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at our website at plasyandplayers.org or call (800) 595-4TIX.

Scenic, Sound and Lighting Designers needed for Fringe Production

Represented Theatre Company seeks a production team for the upcoming Philly Fringe production, "Lynch, Quietly" written by Marc Miller.

A series of surreal, related, and often overlapping vignettes. The piece is multidisciplinary, and rests primarily on oral history, dance/physical movement and video, and attempts to confront the residual trauma of Matthew Williams' lynching that occurred on December 4, 1931 in Salisbury, Maryland.

Set in a hospital haunted by the ghosts of a lynch mob, this piece utilizes folklore and oral histories to confront the legacy of one America's darkest, unspoken secrets. Lynch Quietly blends movement, video, historical text and fictional characters in a surreal and sobering theatrical experience.
